Conference Philosophy of Nature and Process Philosophy 8-9 May 2009 Conference Venue: Franciscan Monastery, Katowice, Panewnicka 76, Poland
The conference is the seventh meeting organized by The Whitehead Metaphysical Society with invaluable help of The Franciscan Seminary and supported by Ancient and Medieval Philosophy Department of the Pontifical Academy of Theology in Krakow. This year conference co-organizer is also Philosophy of Nature and Natural Science Section of Polish Philosophical Society (SFPiNP PTF). For the last two years the seminars organized by the Philosophy of Nature Section of The Whitehead Metaphysical Society were dedicated mainly to the subject of process philosophy and quantum mechanics. Abundance and variety of contexts revealed during seminars made us encourage all scholars to participate in a conference that will address the theme of philosophy of nature and process philosophy. It is not our intention, however, to restrict discussion to quantum mechanic issues or Whitehead’s philosophy. We would like to encourage fresh approach and independent thinking on the grounds on natural sciences and those philosophical schools for which process is the fundamental category. Conference presentations are planned for 30 minutes each. Prospective paper-givers should send abstracts of their papers that outline the main argument to the conference office in English:
